BADRAD600

As you can see, Mark's Radian isn't your everyday Radian.  He's done a LOT of things to it.  There's so much, I decided to copy and paste a section of his original email message (with his permission) here.  This is one killer Radian!

A quick run down: I traded a snowmobile about 9 years ago for it, she was in 3 boxes and a 3" round tub! as you can imagine, having no instructions, it was a bit of a challenge, yet I managed in It has yet to let me down (besides running out of gas!) Anyway, I've done a few "mods" of my own and thought you might be interested in knowing some of the really trick things you can do to really spruce it up! makes a big difference appearance wise too! unless of course you insistent on keeping it totally stock of course....I have pics attached so you can see for yourself!

1. remove the "rear fender" ( always thought it was sort of big)

2. K&N makes a hi-flo filter, couple of 1" holes in the side of the air filter lid makes a HUGE difference!  I actually found that an FZ600 exhaust 4 into 1 really fits!! And sounds cool too! again really helps for performance and we both know how much the stock mufflers weigh....found this on on eBay for $26.00 complete with shipping!

3. I fit up a Avon 150 rear tire. I slightly shaved the sides of the tire (the part radians we never meant to use) so it would fit between the swingarm. You could also add a 1/2 link to the chain and get the same effect, but ass the x-ring chain brakes in, i fits better and better

4. I replaced the front head tube reflectors with cut out polished aluminum pieces that i made myself to tuck in the signals  a little bit and clean up how wide the bike looks for its size. When they flash at nite it lights up the whole front end on that side, looks really cool!

5. replaced the rear signals with really small "bullets" again to "narrow" the bike a little.

6. I always thought bike should have round head lights, so I put one on.

7. Added lower rise bars that give you a bit more control of the bike, puts the rider a bit more over the bars....has a really controlled feel

8 Bar end mirrors.

9. Progressive rear shocks and front springs gives it a really competitive ride...

10. I rejetted the carbs and synced them in tune, it really gets up and goes now, on a dyno, ive almost got 68 hp!! before the engine mods it was at a baffleing 56hp....woohoo!!

11. Removed, polished and clear anodized the upper triple tree and the rear grab bar.

The bike had been laid down 2 times in the front, so the gauge covers are a bit "garrfed" and the bezel for the stock head lamp was crooked and scratched pretty bad, thought this might give it a fresh" look. The frame and engine need a good going through , but for now, Im just going to ride it and get into the resto next winter...

Anyway, Im really proud to be a RAD owner, thought you might be interested to see what ive come up with.....

OH YEA!! almost forgot...The paint!! The drips are 3-D "chrome illusion" maybe you'll see some of the different colors if I can catch the sun just right...

*Update* - 06/24/2015 - Mark's Radian - Ok, Mark's Radian was already in the gallery.  He's done something truly amazing with it now, though.  Imagine a Radian with an FJ1200 motor stuffed in it.  Now take a look at one.   Daaaaaamm!

The engine is a modified FJ1200 engine.  Mark and his son managed to get it into the frame with some modification and fabrication.  Mark says it puts out 138 hp.  The swingarm has been lengthened six inches.  Knock it down a gear and give it the gas at 45, 55, or 65 mph, and the rear tire lights up.  Wow!  That's crazy!  Be careful, guys!  Thanks for sharing the photos and story!
